You would think there are others out there who would be repairing these. I would still like to him come on here and fully explain. I'm sure people would like to have a backup plan.

It sounds like Stiegemeier might be looking into this. I wonder if they got a donor SC yet to take apart to try to figure a fix.

Need a Failed HC Blower...

Life experience talking here.
You do realize that a huge percentage of people in business for themselves are working that way because they are unable to hold a normal job due to either personal problems or attitude problems. Or BOTH. These people can be very talented, and even have a good work ethic.

But, faced with any situation where it stops going their way, those personal/attitude problems kick in. And stuff like this happens. And it is very hard to see it before you hand them the work.

You cannot just sent stuff out to people you don't know without understanding that it carries a certain amount of risk.

Right now there isn't anyone that I am aware of. But I know there are other places working on it.
I just posted in a different thread, that right now most SC's are still under warranty.
Eric's car was modified, but he probably had one of the first SC problem show up.
The real question is .........has anyone else had their SC rebuilt?

Linda:)

From the facebook group page. A person brought their hellcat in with the "noise" and the dealer is ordering what they call a "nose kit". I'm guessing is their new "fix" for the problem. I would think it is just a new S/C Snout. Probably a pretty quick swap.

Hmmmmmm I wonder if that may be a different problem, since it's the snout and not bearings. That would suck!
As far as I know the snout can not be bought separately. The entire SC needs to be purchased.

Of course things can change in a Day. 2 weeks ago, it was no you could not get it separately.

The bearing problem is internal.

There should be two bearings in snout correct?

The snout should have bearings. I would say most of my noise when I record comes as I walk towards the front of the car. It is more quiet in video going to the sides. The snout would be an easy fix for them. I could also see this being the most suspect to "burn out" early due to the blower being at 99% from factory.

I know someone installing a 2.85 next week;), I'll do some inspections on the bearings while I'm in there.

Actually Good Luck, you will find out how "in there" is not easy to do.

Linda:)

I agree and have been waiting for someone's SC to blow up or show a loss of HP
Linda:)

I modded my SC with just the 2.85 pulley and tune. When run hard it made a ridiculous noise, not a bearing noise. Sounded like a rotor hitting the case. Understanding that my warranty is toast, I sent it to Jon Bond to investigate. They found that the rotors actually were hitting each other and not the case. They hoped to be able to fix them as nobody makes replacements. Unfortunately the rotors are too thin for them to be repaired, unlike with Whipple rotors, etc.

I write all of this to say this....Jon has been nothing but upfront and honest with me from the beginning. He has taken time to speak with me on the phone several times as we discussed my options. Unfortunately my SC cannot be repaired at this time. Their shop policy is that they will not reassemble a SC that is bad as then an owner could resell and that would potentially look bad for their shop. I respect that policy. They made a respectable offer to purchase my SC that has several issues. The decision for me now is just to make my decision. Probably Whipple instead of a new stock unit, and their offer is either as a credit or cash, same amount. That again impressed me.

Moral of the story is all businesses have customers that you cannot please no matter what. Take the whole of how they do business and how the treat you. Do not just read what an angry customer wrote and apply it across the board to their business. That is not fair and not true.

Thanks for posting up your experience. I TRUST information coming from you!!!

Did you know that the last I heard the snout can not be bought separate and the entire SC is sold only.
So it would behoove them to buy it from you.

Linda:)

Linda, thanks for the post. Also I have found out that is the case as well. Also, a couple of dealers that have them priced in the $8K range for the entire unit, will not honor that price. Trust me I tried with a dealer earlier this week.

Jon offered me north of $1500 for a unit that cannot be repaired.

I am waiting for a response from SRT today, I know someone who knows someone who was very interested in this issue. Maybe they will choose to do something but I do not expect it at all. Just waiting for that word and if not, I will order the Whipple and injectors and tune from our friends at HHP. Should be 800 or so at the wheels
